Im sitting in the theater by myself. The cast will be here soon. Im just taking it all in. I was thinking about something a fellow writer/actor/director (Jaimyon Parker) said. He pretty much said whether people love his work or hate it is cool with him as long as they feel something. He just never wanted to be forgettable. Thats a powerful sentiment. With SECRETS Ive heard it all. Ive heard everything from theres just too much cursing to people thanking me for being honest. Ive had people tell me that they have had these exact same arguments in their house. Ive had someone say they didnt like the ending and Ive had someone say its my best show to date. As artist we have to tell our truth and thats all I try to do. Im just thankful that you came to experience it and im glad that we made you feel SOMETHING.
