Well yesterday I went for another driving assessment, I last had one in July and was told not to drive until I got hand controls. Been driving for 30 years, changed to automatic about 5 yr ago as my left leg is weaker. Anyway took driving lessons with driving instructor to use hand controls. My instructor was very pleased with my progress and wrote to smart centre in Edinburgh. But I had to go back for another test and failed not on my driving but my cognitive abilities (or so said the OT) she also told me not to appeal her decision. I am so dissappointed.... I have never had any accidents in all my years driving. The OT made me very nervous. I had also been at the urology in the morning and have had a lot of bother with my bladder and have to start self catterisation! One of the worst days for years. Has anyone ever appealed against an OTs decision? I would go back do it again if I could go out with another OT? She was the same the first time I went out with her. AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH
