Im so Powderly I remember Oglesby grocery. Being able to buy a loaf of bread, six pack RC, bag of chips and a pound of bologna for just little over a DOLLAR!! Nelson grocery,Powderly post office. Raymond Cessna as police. Richardson BBQ.. and had the best sundaes!! The old county dump, (where the senior citizens housing is now) phone booth being at Oglesby store.. Need I keep going?? Central City having two drive-ins... The bus to stop and pick you up to take you to Greenville. Cabs.. Everyone in Powderly knew everyone.. You could leave your windows up at night and hear the sounds of whipper will or Katie dids and go right off to sleep.. Hearing Mr. Mercers coon hounds howling-barking and trying to sleep.. Living less than a mile from school and getting to go all 12 years at Muhlenberg Central.. Being a Spartan!!! Being able to go to Mables restaurant for lunch, the tent skating rink that was there by the school.. House Trailer Sales that was where the old Pogue car lot was and the trailer court.. Oh the MEMORIES!! And most of all.. Still living at Powderly!! Center of the Universe!!! Or so my son says!! LOL
