Im sorry to report that actually two art quilts were stolen from our office lobby between last Thursday the 9th to Friday the 10th when the building was occupied with my office mates, not just the one. When I was back in our building on Tuesday I had noticed the Maple Tree art quilt, approximately 36 X 42 inches, right away was missing and was confused, thinking a colleague had moved it for some unknown reason. (My colleagues thought I had taken it home to photograph...) The wall the Hosta art quilt, which is wider than the maple quilt I think, was on is a narrow wall and that wall is full of a fake tree, and I was frustrated by the disappearance of the Maple Tree art quilt, so I didnt process that this quilt was gone too. I had not asked for anyone to repost the Maple Tree art quilt on their page as stolen, but I greatly appreciate the gesture and would again appreciate the gesture of these photos being posted. Last night I looked at Craigs list of 2500 art objects in the pacific northwest and did not see either of these listed. Contacting pawn shops is another possibility; and leaving photos of the quilts with them and my contact info. I plan to take pictures in to the Olympia Police Department tomorrow and file a theft report. There are some other possibilities that I have discussed with my office mates. At any rate life does go on, this is just stuff, and as Linda Larsen said earlier this week, (Im paraphrasing loosely,) not everyone is blessed to have their work liked so much that someone would go through the effort to steal it. What I am more upset about is the kind of energy that was in our building that took these two pieces, (which took some work and effort,) and if it is someone who keeps coming into our lobby...Yuck.!. We have since removed any artisan works of art and put up cheap copies of original art. Not going through the effort of surveillance cameras, but we could always put up a sign that says we have it, but not sure we will like that idea either. This event was not what was on my list in my List of the Week spiral book I keep track of things to do. Lol! Have a Fabulous Day! Thanks for your good wishes!
