Im trying to not sweat the small stuff, but... • Someone - TopicsExpress

Im trying to not sweat the small stuff, but... • Someone decides to move a cooler into the kitchenette in precisely the same location where I prepare my food. No big deal. I move it to the other side of the room where theres a lot more space. Oddly, someone moved it back! I scoot it aside only to have someone move it back a third time! I tuck it under a chair. (Note: I may be unemployed right now but am VERY busy with my employment search, which is a full time job, and dont really want or need to be dinking around like this when all I want to do is make my lunch!) At about the same time... • Someone started placing unfamiliar items on the counter and sink in the kitchenette. No big deal. Just unusual. Unassuming, I leave them -- convinced that whoever left them will surely re-visit the area and deal with it. They dont. After awhile, it gets irritating. Finally, I leave a note indicating my intentions to deep-six them if the items arent claimed. Then... • Someone suddenly pushes everything on the bathroom counter back against the wall. I think, Hmm! Space. Again, not a big deal. Just unusual. And then... • Earlier today, I moved my boots and shoes from the floor in the mud room into a basket outside my door. Landlord moves the entire basket into the mud room. Obviously she doesnt want my basket there. No big deal. I let it go. Then... • Someone cleaned the bathroom. However, when doing so, they moved my soaps (on a soap dish) to the left from the right and push the community soap dish far away from the sink. Someone suggests to me later today, Sounds as though you have some difficulty dealing with change. This isnt difficulty with change! This is a series of minor irritations that are beginning to snowball and, frankly, that would begin to tick anyone off! My next rant... Someone started laundry at 7:30 PM. It typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours for two full loads. I was hoping I could get to sleep early so I could get up early for a meeting (impromptu interview) in the morning and at the very least hoped that it would stop at around 10:00 PM. It did not. When I see that the landlord begin to start a new load at 11:00 PM, I approach her with my concern. Shes STILL doing laundry and its 12:30 AM! This interferes with my sleep, which undermines my employment search. My house. My rules. What I dont understand is how and why they emphasized a desire for respect and courtesy so much in the beginning (which was a huge selling point for me and made the environment safe) but defy the rules themselves or change the rules on a whim?! I HATE double standards! I have earnestly tried to be a perfect renter because I honestly cannot afford to jeopardize the roof over my head and I dont want to complain but this is interfering with my job, which is to find work and get on my feet! I can earnestly say that I really wanted this to work. Theyve got a great renter. Doesnt make sense.
