Im working nights at one of the Crisis at Christmas shelters over xmas week. Last year we were in a derelict office block on the Docklands which had over 300 people who came in from the cold to sleep on the floors, they were given access to clean dry clothes, food, medical services and organisations that give guidance and advice. Most importantly they were made to feel welcome, treated with respect and dignity and experienced non judgemental human contact. Last year at Crisis was a life changer for me and as a result of the time spent with people in desperate situations i count my blessings every day. If you would like to do something different this Christmas and really give a gift to someone, please consider giving your time and care to people with nothing.
