Im writing to ask if you can help share the following news: Ive written two novels before, one of which, The Missing, was a bestseller. My latest novel, On Guard, is loosely based on my fathers escape from Hungary during the Revolution of 1956. The novel is partly set during the Revolution and its also partly set in present-day Budapest. It will become a series of thrillers if it sells well enough, so Im writing to let everyone know that the Kindle version is currently in Amazons Summer Sale and, therefore, reduced to just 99p (or equivalent on all Amazon sites). Fencing is also a big part of the story. My family history has fencing at the centre of it. My father was an international champion fencer and he coached the British Olympic foil team for a time. Reviews cite the fencing sequences as being realistic and thrilling. If you know anyone who enjoys reading crime fiction, or whos interested in history, or, indeed, anyone who loves fencing, please let them know about On Guard. I would truly love to produce a sequel and then others, but this will depend on the interest the first book generates. Heres the link where you can also view the trailer: amazon.co.uk/Guard-First-...=on+guard+karl If you arent into Kindle books, a paperback is also available. Early reviews have been great, including from some bestselling authors: ON GUARD immerses you into the challenges of competitive fencing, with all its rivalries, long-buried bitterness and mistrust. Masterful and thrilling, this is a book to devour – I found it impossible to leave alone. I love thrillers that take me into an unfamiliar world and make it real, and ON GUARD does exactly that. Elizabeth Haynes, bestselling author of INTO THE DARKEST CORNER Karl Vadaszffys second novel, ON GUARD, has the style and pace of its subject – the cut-throat world of competitive fencing. Glenn Cooper, bestselling author of the LIBRARY OF THE DEAD trilogy “Betrayal. Revenge. Revolution. Its an unholy trinity that ricochets between London and Budapest, leading one man on a dangerous quest to untangle the sins of the past in order to stop a madman hell-bent on vengeance in the here and now. A tense and gritty thriller, ON GUARD skilfully lunges towards its shattering climax. Prepare to be thoroughly engaged. C.M. Palov, author of THE TEMPLAR’S SECRET A slick, stylish crime novel set in the world of competitive fencing – Karl Vadaszffy knows the world he’s writing about – and it shows!! William Ryan, author of THE HOLY THIEF and THE BLOODY MEADOW ON GUARD is another masterful thriller from Karl Vadaszffy, grounded in the very real history of modern Europe intruding on the present day, dealing variously with old secrets, family dynamics and competitive sport. A solid followup to his excellent THE MISSING, one of my favorite suspense novels of the last few years. Scott Phillips, author of THE ICE HARVEST “Riveting. A real page-turner. Takes you to the edge and beyond.” Damien Lewis, author of ZERO SIX BRAVO A complex and gripping tale of revenge. James Becker, bestselling author of THE FIRST APOSTLE and THE LOST TESTAMENT Best wishes, Karl Vadaszffy karl@karlvad karlvad Twitter: @KarlVad
