Imagining Scotland’s Future. Over the past few months, the Church of Scotland carried out a series of public workshop meetings to find out what aspects of our society matter most to people and to find out what changes and priorities they would like to see in a future Scotland. 900 people in 32 communites across Scotland participated. The whole exercise was carried out in a strictly impartial manner with regard to independence. The Kirk simply takes the view that now is an opportunity to visualise and seek change for the better. I participated in one of these meetings in Glasgow. It was attended by all age-groups and all flavours of Yes / No / Dont Know re independence. However, the thing that did stand out in common with everybody there was a huge desire for change for the better. A very interesting and valuable contribution to our national conversation.
