Improvisers needed: An opportunity for anyone between the ages of 8 – 80+ to participate in Cambridgeshire County Council’s Between the Lines event to commemorate the start of WW1. This will take place on August 3 at Hinchingbrooke House (12.30 to 5 p.m). CLASSWORKS THEATRE is recreating the convalescent hospitals that were frequently set up in large country houses to accommodate recovering soldiers. We need PERFORMERS interested in improvisation to represent these wounded soldiers, the trained and volunteer nurses, the local population who contributed to supporting the Red Cross efforts and to keep the patients occupied, the family who lived in Hinchingbrooke (Lord Montague, the Earl of Sandwich, his family and servants). You will NOT be required to learn lines, but you should be prepared to read letters, help write letters, play cards or chess, entertain the soldiers, be involved in fundraising efforts etc. In period clothing, you will take on the characters of those who were there at the time and as those characters you will also engage/chat with people as they walk round the hospital area. There will also be a lot of other events in the house and grounds during the afternoon, which you will also have a chance to go round.
