In 1963, Ed took time off from fighting communism, the mafia, and run-of the-mill stuff, to crack down on a rock band called the Kinsmen. The Director, being a Puritan, took umbrage on the fact that “Louie Louie” was a dirty song. At least he thought it was. He sicked scores of agents on the case and spent a large chunk of change on solving the crime. After weeks and weeks of listening, his agents reported back, “We can’t tell”. They still can’t.
