In 1994, I quit my Job as a computer programmer at one of Jamaicas leading financial institutions, I was warned by friends and family that I was making a monumental blunder and that I was squandering my education. Well 20 years later, i still have no regrets. Education, in my humble opinion, is merely the foundation needed for individual growth and self actualization. It is the preparation of the mind enabling it to unleash its creative and innovative potential, and its therefore not a certification for entrapment in a perpetual cycle of job hunting or underemployment. We need to adopt, foster and nurture a culture of wealth creation by engaging in legitimate economic activities geared towards financial independence and prosperity. There are too many persons among us who are highly educated yet are constantly struggling under the curse of impoverishment and deprivation. I continue to advocate for entrepreneurship to be included in our school curriculums preparing the next generation to become good solid sound business people. I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS I STILL HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN OR HEARD OF AN EMPLOYED PERSON WHO BECAME WEALTHY BY WORKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE. A FEW MAY BE RICH BUT NOT WEALTHY.
