In 2003, Luis Lopez established La Casa Rosa. From this studio in 2009 he created the Tobin Hill Arts Alliance, with the vision of showcasing artists. The popular "2nd Friday art walk" was established as its first project. THAA is a grassroots organization that for 4 years has coordinated, month after month, family-friendly art walks, given opportunities to over 600 up-and-coming artists as well as established artists to showcase their work and in so doing helped revitalize the neighborhood. Today, the "2nd Friday art walk" project will no longer be under the direction of THAA. Venues and galleries, with the help of the THAA, have permanently established themselves in the neighborhood and will continue through their own efforts to showcase art on the 2nd Friday of every month. We want to thank all the venues who have been with us from the beginning, especially High Wire Art Gallery and San Antonio College for their belief in the arts!
