Instead of having Northwestern Medicine neurosurgeon Joshua Rosenow shave her head, which is often the norm, Vinehout asked him to shave a path for her incision, which allowed her to design a hairstyle that covered it. With that request, Becky not only saved her hair, she launched a new business. Becky is unique in combining her expertise and services with her experience with her own surgery, Rosenow said. Depending on the operation, each patient needs a very different haircut after surgery. Becky takes a diagram of the surgery that we give her, then tailors a haircut to fit.
