[If any are left.] The former president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity , Cardinal Walter Kasper, is encouraging that the Lutheran churches and the Catholic Church should celebrate common worship in 2017. In this worship both sides should put aside their doctrinal commitments. Cardinal Kasper said on Friday in Münster: In this we should take a confession of guilt that we have not met the requirement of unity. The two churches should thank the ecumenical movement and promise to decide to continue along those lines. A proposal has already been submitted by the Cardinal in the summer of 2012 as part of Ratzinger Student Circle at Castel Gandolfo.
