In China politicians are not allowed to have religion. The dangers - TopicsExpress

In China politicians are not allowed to have religion. The dangers of politicians having religion are many: (1) using the government machinery to fight for benefits of own religion, in other words grabbing resources of the country. (2) Government being controlled by the church leader rather than the political leader himself, i.e. shadow leader with authority but no responsibility attached. (3) Politicians put the interest of the religion above the interest of the people. (4) Politicians assume their religion is the best, i.e. narcissism, and oppress other religions. (5) Politicians use religion to gain personal popularity and therefore political power when what is required of a leader is his capability to defend the people. (6) Politicians use their own morality standard as the gold standard; every politician works to portray the defined characteristics instead of the real substance, therefore the government will be occupied by hypocrites that smile at each other but fighting at the back. (7) People are misled to follow the leader on a road to perdition. (8) The religion is destroyed because people of the world associate the misbehaviour of the leader to the religion; the religion is actually good but the misdeed of the leader who claim to champion the religion create misunderstanding about the religion.
