In College hoops action today there are a few really good matchups, but really only one that is garnering national attention, that being Kentucky versus Louisville. Adolph Rupp and Joe B Hall deserve recognition as great coaches, however I believe both men’s legacies are somewhat tainted by the fact that neither would acknowledge the Cardinals, despite their backyard proximity. Had they, this could have been as big a rivalry in college Sports as any today. But for reasons of Class and Race Kentucky ignored Louisville. They in fact treated them like they belonged in that backyard. If they ever met it was only in the odd NCAA Tournament game. Denny Crum had some fabulous teams in the 70’s and 80’s including national championships yet still the high foreheads in Lexington wouldn’t budge and schedule a home and away game with the Cardinals. Finally, after Joe B left some sanity began to creep into Kentucky and they relented and now play Louisville every year. The rivalry still hasn’t matured to the Duke/Carolina or Georgetown/Syracuse level, but this year it just might. Many believe if Kentucky is going to be beat this year, it will be today! Jump doesn’t buy the hype! It is because of the hype that I believe Kentucky will show today why they are simply the best 10 in the game! If Kentucky is going to lose, it will be to team where they are likely not to have any focus and will take lightly or perhaps in the NCAA Tournament where crazy happens!! Today they are 5point pick, Jump say give the points and run. Kentucky will win by double digits! In other games I look for the BYU upset of Gonzaga, Georgia State over Wisconsin Green Bay and Portland over San Diego. Don’t sleep on Wright State against SPAM. They should cover the 18 points. Jump Out!
