In Dec, we rented our house to a young man we Thought we knew. He turned out to be less than we believed. He ran out on us owing rent & utilities. We had to go to court to get him evicted. After that judgement was given, he Deliberately slopped stuff all over the carpet, Ive found 3 burn marks, 1 of which is large.....he wasnt supposed to smoke in the house.....both kitchen sinks, the counters & the stove top were covered in dirty dishes & cooking pots. He left 3 bags of trash, perfectly FILTHY toilets, soap scum thick in the shower. And worst of all, 3 weeks ago he had a friend in there cooking & injecting Heroin! The friend overdosed & was gone, as the deputy told me twice, but the medic brought him back. This kid evidently was taught no respect for anyone or anything. He deliberately disobeyed the contract. And once a judgement was given for him to move he was so vindictive he trashed the house. Just to get back at us, for doing absolutely nothing to him! What a dirty, lying, cheat he turned out to be. It amazes me that he has no regard whatsoever for any other person than himself. I believe thats called a Sociopath. We left furniture, dishes, cooking pans, appliances, etc in the house & allowed him to use them, just to help him out. For a while he ate dinner at our house almost every night. We even invited him to join us for our Christmas dinner..& he came! And THIS is the thanks we get from him. This is the respect he has for us. He also Stole a bookcase he was using in his bedroom! He has left a filthy house to be cleaned up & painted by 2 old people. Which by the way part of the agreement was the first months rent in exchange for painting the interior. Guess what? Not done. Only his bedroom & bath were painted & it was not finished. $700. For painting a bedroom & bath is awfully good money isnt it? The old saying Nice guys finish last certainly applies in this case. The older I get the more distrustful I become of others. It really scares me for the future when I consider that youth like this one will one day be the ones in charge. Well...unless people like him are in prison & the good ones are in charge. We can only pray thats how it goes.
