In Executive Order number 040114-26, President Obama has declared April 1 st a national holiday to forever be called Barack Obama Day. The executive order reads “Whereas I am the first president of color and have dealt with more opposition than any previous office holder, I hereby declare April 1 st to be a national holiday called Barack Obama Day. This order will remain in effect in perpetuity.” Jay Carney in his morning press briefing stated that the decision by Barack Obama to enshrine his legacy now rather than allow future generations to do so as has been the custom stated that the White House was worried that African-American children needed another black hero to look up to, and future presidents couldn’t necessarily be trusted as most Americans are highly racist as demonstrated by Obama’s low approval ratings. “The time is now”, said Carney, “We can’t wait for another Bush to honor our great president. We had to pull the trigger.” Outside the Beltway in Baltimore, Barack Obama supporters hailed the decision. “Yo man, it be bout time dat dis president got smack dog.” said Jamalis Jackson. Whatever that means, but he was smiling and wearing a Barack Obama t-shirt, so we assume that it was a positive reaction. We tried to reach out to Thelma Thompson, a Nebraska voter who voted for Barack Obama in both the primaries and general elections in 2008 and 2012, but we found that she was unavailable for comment as she has been interred at Peaceful Acres Cemetery in Lincoln since 2001. On the other side of the aisle, Sen. John McCain (R) Arizona, said that Obama’s move may be a little hasty, but he it is a deserving honor for such a great president.He further went on and said that his family will be eating Fried Chicken and Watermelon in celebration of Barack Obama Day.
