In Gethsemane (Luke 22:44) Jesus came into agony in Gethsemane and his sweat became like drops of blood running through the land. The only evangelist to report the fact is a physician, Luke. And what makes the decision of a clinician. The sweat blood, or hematidrosis, is a rare phenomenon. It is produced in exceptional condition: to provoke him a physical weakness, accompanied by a violent moral subsidence caused by deep emotion, fear is a big need. The terror, the fright, the terrible anguish of feeling carrying all the sins of men should have crushed Jesus. Such extreme stress produces the breaking of very fine capillaries that are under the sweat glands, blood mixes with sweat and focuses on the then flows all over the body to the earth.
