In Humanities Research Cluster, IPPP, University of Malaya, is doing a joint project with University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The goal is to understand how the public understand expert knowledge on the problem of obesity, in order to find ways to improve communication on this issue between the public and the experts (doctors etc.). So, the institution are distributing a survey among Malaysian citizens asking about how they get information on obesity, how much they know about obesity and diet, and what their eating habits are. At this point, the Malay community are their focus; however, this project will later expand and include all Malaysian citizens.
