In January 2012, food writer Ari Levaux claimed in The Atlantic that food with ingredients from genetically modified plants had "very real dangers," based on a study by Chinese scientists indicating that RNA fragments somehow made it through the human digestive process and intestinal wall and got into the bloodstream.
