In Jhotwara, RJP Candidate Harish Yadav is tainted. Read this story in The Times of India... RJP candidate likely to be held JAIPUR: The city police are preparing to nab Rashtriya Janata Party candidate Harish Yadav, who is contesting the assembly election from the Jhotwara constituency. Yadav was wanted in a land grabbing case and has been on the run for a long time, the police said on Saturday. In his affidavit to the EC, the RJP candidate failed to disclose this case along with four other criminal cases pending against him. Probe in the case is almost complete and we would be arresting Yadav soon, ACP (Sadar) Manoj Chaudhary confirmed to TOI. Yadav accused of forging documents The 37-year-old Yadav, who was expelled from Congress last week on joining the RJP, stands accused of forging documents to create a ghost person to grab more than 10-bighas prime land on the city outskirts. If convicted, Yadav could land behind bars for life or for 10 years, as per the Indian Penal Code. His six co-accused have already been arrested and charged by the city police. One Prabhu Dayal Meena, a resident of village Nai-ki-Thadi near Amber, filed a criminal case against Yadav and his accomplices with the citys Bani Park police station in 2010. Meena claimed to own an ancestral land that was priced at crores of rupees as per the prevailing market price of property. It was alleged that the accused prepared fake documents to create a successor of the land with the purpose to sell it. Investigations later revealed that no one existed by the identity of the so-called successor, said police. This ghost person could be created on the basis of attestations done by Yadav, who was then a JMC councillor. The verification done by Yadav in his official capacity formed the foundation of the crime, said a police officer associated with investigations. Initially, five accused were arrested and a chargesheet was filed against them. Investigation was pending against Yadav and his accomplice Kamal Agarwal. Once the forensic report proved Yadav and Agarwals role, we arrested the latter, said ACP (Sadar) Chaudhary. He added, Yadav could not be arrested so far as we were not sure if he was the same person who we were looking for. Now it is established that the RJP candidate is our wanted man; we will arrest him soon. Despite his arrest — if it happens — and in spite of the wrong affidavit to the Election Commission, there would be no legal hurdle for Yadav in contesting the election. timesofindia.indiatimes/city/jaipur/RJP-candidate-likely-to-be-held/articleshow/26292563.cms#write
