In Krakow? Pay a visit to the concentration camp Auschwitz, apx 90 mins drive from the city of Krakow. On the 27. January, 70 years ago, this camp was liberated by Russian troops. We organised a 6-hour your, including lunch, guide, hotel pickup/drop-off, visting the two camps of Auschwitz 1, and Auschwitz 2/Birkenau. A truly horric place, so full of grief, yet an important part of our recent history. A important reminder to us all what can happen when tyranny relplaces democracy. When hatred and racism win over love and tolerance. When in Krakow be sure to also visit the Jewish quarter(Kesmierz), the Old Town, the Ghetto, the Market Sq and Wawel Castle. Train/bus from the airport to the city centre takes apx 20 mins. The currency is Polish Szloty, so be sure to change some at the AirPort. In and and around the city centre, there is a wide variety of restaurants, Polish and international. Favourite drinks are vodka and beer. Local food includes; Pirogs, dumplings, soups and stew.
