In ‘#Prison Break’ series you see prisoners trying to do all they can to break and escape from prison. Sometimes they take days and days digging a hole only to reach a dead end and but get the courage to start afresh. In the series T-Bag repeatedly talks of avoiding the ‘captivity of negativity’. This speaks volumes to us at this point in time when a general wave of discouragement has engulfed a section of Ugandans – what’s being referred to as ‘obukoowu’ (weariness or tiredness). Some married people will refuse to take care of the needs of their spouses and say they are ‘bakoowu’. Many voters dodge casting their votes and claim ‘bakooye’. There are employees who get rude to customers and they say it’s because of ‘obukoowu’. These days some people throw waste in the road and says it’s because they are ‘mukoowu’. When it gets to some opposition politicians it gets worse. They want to give an impression that the political climate is too bad to change. But the truth is that they are just too tired to come up with any new constructive idea; so all they can do is criticize. Never get too tired to do what you must do. If you become too tired for your marriage, your business or your God, brace yourself for the worst results. Can you be too tired to eat? When you meet a snake can you say you are too tired? You have to either get a tool and hit its head or spring up like Kiprotich and run for dear life.
