In a move as calculating and brilliant as Lord Vetinaris taxation of rat farms to end Anhk-Morporks rat infestation, Mr. Pratchett has dangled a carrot in front of his fans to entice us to raise some steam for his forthcoming Discworld novel: Raising Steam, and I have to wonder why. When youve written a series that is soon to be 40 books long, each of which is an international bestseller that holds a mirror up to society and then makes fun of it for always staring at its reflection, its hard to imagine any way of getting the point across any further without shouting: I CANT WAIT FOR THIS BOOK TO COME OUT, AND YOU SHOULD READ IT TOO!* *Writing in all capitals is different than speaking in them, and should not be considered a subtle threat.
