In addition to knowing how letters appear in the alphabet, it is important for a child to recognize letters in other settings. On one of the tables this morning there were strips of paper with different letters written on them and magnetic letters. They were very busy digging through all of the letters in the basket to locate the one that matched the letters on the paper. They then would place the magnet on top of the paper letter.During circle friends were still talking about the fire truck from yesterday and recalling all of the interesting things they learned. We decided to bring out some new books all about fire fighters! One of the books was about Curious George going to a fire house and putting on a real fire suit. One friend had recalled that we had seen a fireman so that yesterday. It is great that they are making these connections and recalling information from different periods of time.
