In case anyone was wondering, last nights dream consisted of a rehearsal for an RSC show with Diana Huey playing the ingenue to my Queen(? Duchess? Someone she and I were fighting for not to be banished or put to death) and at one point I was in the middle of a particularly raunchy scene set in a tavern with Jon Lutyens, who then morphed into David Tennant, standing directly behind me. When I turned around to ask Jon/David a question about a line he quickly launched into a long (and brilliant) historical explanation and started quoting a different Shakespeare play (pretty sure it was Richard II, in my dream mind) while thrusting at me to emphasize how dirty the line (that ended, after a particularly intense thrust, with a very good inking) was. Both the audience and other actors at this open rehearsal clapped and laughed and then Jon/David needed to make a note about that line in his script, but he only had a pen, so Louise Butler ran to the rescue and right as the dream ended, David (who was no longer Jon, at this point, sorry Lutyens) was writing in his script and saying, Lou Butler, stage manager extraordinaire. You are all welcome.
