In every country I have lived in so far, a child performing over - TopicsExpress

In every country I have lived in so far, a child performing over and above academic expectation is cause for celebration. Not so, here. Rather than asking themselves how it can be that a Level 1 primary school pupil can take part in a competition aimed at Level 2 pupils, and wipe the floor with the opposition, the powers-that-be have chosen to wave their precious rule-book and rain on a 9-year-olds parade. Who cares about the feelings of a child who spent months preparing for a competition, when the organisers faces must be saved? No wonder the vast majority of children hate the subject of English Language. Even when youre good at it, you have to be the right age apparently, otherwise it doesnt count.
