In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day here is some Dr. King local history… On Feb 10, 1963 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave a sermon at Plymouth Church in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District titled “The American Dream,” a precursor to his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. Plymouth Church was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961 and a New York City Landmark under the Brooklyn Height Historic District in 1965 (the first Historic District in NYC).
