In honor of the debut of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, Im running a weekend long sale on the Super Hero Workout 2.0 The trailer looks awesome. And Im sure the movie looks awesome. HOWEVER... I will be totally honest and say that I have never loved the Ultron storyline. In general, the idea of an apocalyptic type singularity has always seemed both too easy and too familiar. Main point: Okay, robots are smarter than us, they can control other tech, everyone fear the machines, etc etc etc. While I certainly dont think this movie will turn into Terminator: NOW WITH SUPER HEROES! I do think that it takes away from some of the more interesting intellectual stuff that something like Cap 2 brought up (which is why I hope the continued SHIELD/HYDRA stuff is a focus of this film). Loving the shots of Bruce Banner, loving Scarletts general badassery. More than anything else, Im really just excited to see how all of this leads into the potential (and, to this point, rumored) Civil War stuff--which I contend is the single greatest and most ambitious Marvel storyline there has ever been. ALL IN ALL: Obviously I have a big ol raging nerd boner, and will totally see this opening day. But, you know. More global drama, fewer robots. (Hulkbuster notwithstanding, of course.) So. Yeah.
