In honour of European Cake Week on the GBBO... John and I had these Kouign Amann in a market in Dinan in Normandy on Saturday. I came back desperate to track down the recipe, and lo and behold, there it was in the current GBBO book. Pauls recipe and Marys muffin tin from Lakeland - how could it fail?! If you make these yourselves, Id recommend checking on them (and covering with foil) earlier than Paul says in the recipe. The caster sugar means they start to brown VERY quickly.
