In light of recent acts of Islamic barbarism, I cant help but wish Christopher Hitchens were alive to defend the liberal humanistic values that many on the political left cowardly refuse to uphold. Islam, nor any religion, should be immune from criticism. As Hitchens would remind us - to claim otherwise is an unforgivable submission to a stone-age ideology, derived from the desert of Palestine, during a very bad time in human history. Primitive worldviews like Islam claim to have the moral authority to tell you what you can think, who you can sleep with, what you can eat, what you can read - and they claim the right to make you afraid.
