In one of the Gochisousan episodes this week (see my previous post), Meiko gets a big care package of food from home. My mother still sends me care packages of Japanese food ingredients (and brings a ton of them with her when she comes to visit). I dont know how I could have survived all my years living in Europe without them...although we had a Japanese grocery store in Zürich, it was very limited - and here, the closest Japanese store with decent stock is 3+ hours away >.< And Im still running a couple of Japanese food blogs! Yep, Im crazy. ^_^ (OK one of them is in hiatus. Itll be back though! argh.) Anyway, this photo is of one of my moms awesome care packages, attached to the post I did about basic ingredients.
