In one of their last live concerts, The Beatles performed in Shea Stadium today, in 1965, before a screaming crowed of 55,000. They were not the only act on the bill, however. The show also featured Motown singer Brenda Holloway (I Cant Help Myself), King Curtis (Soul Twist), Sounds Incorporated (Fingertips), and The Discothèque Dancers, and included. Murray the K, Mal Evans, Brian Epstein, and announcer Cousin Brucie Morrow. It was the largest venue The Beatles had played up until that point. A few years later, John Lennon recalled the show as a career highlight: At Shea Stadium, I saw the top of the mountain.
