In partnership with the organization South Organizing Against Racism (SOAR), the Real News will look at specific short-term solutions to hold police officers more accountable. The doors will open at 4:00pm and close at 5:00pm. The first show will take place from 5:30-6:30 PM. The doors will open at 4:00pm and close at 5:00pm. We will debate the merits of enforcing mandatory body cameras for all officers and conducting independent investigations with no affiliations to local police departments. In our second hour, we will look at the meaning of these demonstrations in this point of time and what lessons can be learned from previous generations concerning long-term strategies to drive the movement or moment forward. Please keep in mind that this is not a Baltimore-specific discussion, and we would like to go further with our discussion from our previous town hall and put these solutions in a national context. About SOAR (South Organizing Against Racism) – We are linking up youth, youth led programs and organizations across the south and beyond who are interested in creating a world driven by peace and justice where we can create a sustainable economic, environmental and political system that saves the future of our planet.
