In recognition of Black History Month, you’re invited to celebrate Black Canadian heritage, traditions and achievements on Sunday, Feb. 9 when the Thornhill African Caribbean Canadian Association (TACCA), in conjunction with the City, will present a screening of a short film entitled Africville – Can’t Stop Now. This event will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at Vaughan City Hall. The film, presented in part through rare and archival footage, offers a glimpse into the life and times of Africville residents and their personal and community-based life journeys. Presentation highlights also include poetry readings and guest speakers celebrating black Canadian history. Refreshments will be served. For more information, visit: bit.ly/MqfOth
