In response to Jax Murcia and the biased reporting on BBC about privatisation of the NHS and the call out to explode the myths that private is better and spread the message far and wide , here is my little rap that may help... BEHIND THE LOGO We are all familiar with the NHS logo that we can see Worn every day by our very own health secretary A health secretary that is not fooling anyone Because we all know by now our NHS is going, going, gone Gone to a competitive market with relative ease Quickly taken over by global corporations and greedy companies Companies who focus on share-holders and private wealth They don’t care at all about our precious public health Health care that is cherry picked for a quick and tidy profit And when things go wrong they can do a moonlight flit Flit over the extra costs to you and me When you go and see a doctor and have to pay an extortionate fee Fee paying sick people who like Americans will be made bankrupt When the alarming cost of their treatment will very soon erupt Erupt and cause further mayhem for everyone When our NHS (except for the logo) has disappeared and gone. Gone to a fully competitive market trampling on cooperation Only benefiting the privileged few and not a poorly sick nation A nation whose satisfaction has plummeted from an all-time high With waiting times and crisis after crisis making us all cry Cry for the many services impoverished and closing down Right across the country in every single town Towns with no A+E and now even no hospital The land sold off for perhaps another shopping mall Malpractice that is surely illegal at its core Especially when our NHS has gone for ever more More than 70 MPs and 140 lords with interests in private firms And you wonder why the health reforms are on their terms. Terms of endearment they are definitely not It is obvious that they could not give a jot Jot all this down and pay attention to this gigantic con Please believe us when we tell you our NHS has gone. Gone for all the ordinary people who fund it every day Through our tax and NI yet destroyed and in compete disarray Disarray for the many who do not have much spare money To keep the rich in their luxury lifestyle of milk and honey Honey please look up and see the latest score For our NHS will very soon exist no more More of us need to oppose the theft our greatest national treasure For behind the logo the ensuing deception we can easily measure Measure the promises that were broken, the untruths that were told The unfair and biased reporting that quickly did unfold Unfold that sleep from those bleary eyes Alas it will be too late when we hear your plaintive cries Cries that will fall on deaf ears with only ourselves to blame After all the clue was always there (NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE) it is in the name Name and shame the ones who are responsible for its total demise Who cannot give us any assurances but simply continue to tell us lies. ©Suzi2014
