In response to a post on a persons page where they agreed with Charles Barkleys rant about the Mike Brown killing I said: It is funny how people can say Amen to brutality when they never have to face such abuse. As far as Mr. Barkley and his comments goes, I am certain that if/when he or his loved one is faced with such actions by the police, his tune will change, because they will not see a black man with money, they will just see a black man and he/they will be treated as such. I have seen the police go for their guns when they saw my son at 12 years old. All they saw was a black man. I had the school call me to pick my son up for being late to school in the 2nd grade, but send the 6th grade white boy to class that he walked to school with that was late as well. Of course I stood up for my son and they let him go to class once I showed them the error of their ways. What about the countless black boys or black men that do not have a law student or attorney as a mom. I have seen your posts about your frustration with the way the schools have treated your son because of the disabilities he deals with. I commend you each time. However, on such an issue as sensitive as race, and the mistreatment of a particular race, I now see how you and countless others feel. Please unfriend me, because I do not see how I can be friends with a person that can commend the senseless killing of my people and praise that with an Amen, which means let it be so. Of course I dont expect you to understand; youve never had to walk a mile in my shoes. Just have a black son or husband, and see the fear that you have to walk in then if a cop approaches them. Having both these policemen kill a black man and get away with it, just endorses their bad behavior. You have mentioned your anger over people for mistreating your son in an extracurricular activity, and least he wasnt choked to death or shot on sight or shot while walking to his own home.
