In response to the absolutely non-ubiquitous curiosity surrounding the personal lives of the Trinitones, we have decided to resurrect the ancient Trinitone of the Week tradition so that you can #MeetTheTriniboyos. This week: new recruit Matt (or Mitt for short). Matt Murtagh (Bass) - PPES Matt’s recent addition to Trinitones constitutes the prolongation of a rich heritage of Kilkenny College alumni to have formed part of the group – a lineage which can be traced back to the Great Father of Trinitones, Sir Patrick Barrett. As he studies some innocuous, non-specific Arts course, Matt has had to make a name for himself by political means. This summer he was to be found campaigning against the building of a bridge in Kilkenny City – a protest wherefrom he has incurred a number allegations relating to use of homemade explosives in the vicinity of local councillor’s homes. We wish Matt well in his upcoming court-case which is due to start in early December, pending recovery from tear gas injuries to his exceptionally blue eyes. Pictured: Matt (left) in the build-up to violent demonstration in South County Louth; Matt (right) in the aftermath of an anti-establishment riot where he met a young lady who expressed opinions that “politics ‘n stuff is so hot.”
