PRAYERS FOR SHELLY WARD SHE WILL BE 30 YEARS OLD ON APRIL 23, 2014; Ok friends and family, Today the biopsy got back from Duke and I was officially given the diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma. Tomorrow I have multiple appts to meet with different doctors to get a set of tests done so they can stage the cancer. At this point it appears to be stage II because the cancer was seen in neck and chest. Luckily, the other CT scan didnt show anything below the diaphragm. Thursday I have a PET scan and another appointment to discuss fertility issues that can occur with chemotherapy. Eventually they are going to put a port in my chest where the treatments will be given and also will have to have a bone marrow biopsy which I am opting to do with sedation since I really dont handle pain well. I was informed I will more than likely lose my hair which sucks, but it will grow back after treatment. The treatment is AVDB and will take six months (12 treatments, twice a month). After the six months I will hopefully be cured. This is one the most curable forms of cancer out there for people in my age range. I know that I have an uphill battle ahead of me..and it wont be easy. I was told the chemo is going to make me sick (which they will give me medicine for nausea, etc) and will cause fatigue but I have to stay as active as I can. I know Ive asked before for prayers and I definitely need it now and during treatment. I know God has a plan for me and that this is happening for a reason. I am going to rely on Him to get me through this and keep me strong. So please, keep me in your prayers as I go through this ordeal...and please dont feel like you need to give me my space or not message me...I know there will be days that I may not want to talk, but I know seeing a message from anyone will help me a lot during this time. Thank you!
