Finally back in the concrete jungle, but I couldnt NOT share some experience from my last weekend in South Africa. We went on Safari in the Kruger Preserve and these are just a few of the highlights. It was truly magical! The White Rhino came out of nowhere. Our tracker, Sam, happened to catch a glimpse of an ear out of the corner of his eye and then the Rhino appeared. It was like seeing a Unicorn! The picture does not do justice to this magnificent animal. To think that people hunt them for just a horn is inconceivable! The lone Giraffe in the middle of the road, I call Clint! He just stood there with the Sun at his back waiting for the gunfight to begin! The Leopard in the tree was a male. He had stolen the Impala carcass from a female (no comments please) and hauled it into a tree. We were literally at the base of the tree. There were 2 Prides of Lions that took down a Water Buffalo minutes before we got there. A fight broke out between the Prides right around our vehicles. In all cases, we were only 10-15 yards from the animals. Theres nothing like seeing these creatures in their natural habitat and being only a few feet from them. Same with the Elephants...magnificent creatures. We sat for about 1/2 an hour just watching them tear apart an Amarula Tree. What an incredible adventure! If any of you can possibly go to this magical land, you must take advantage of it!
