In school, we’re rewarded for having the answer, not for asking - TopicsExpress

In school, we’re rewarded for having the answer, not for asking a good question. Which may explain why kids—who start off asking endless “why” and “what if” questions—gradually ask fewer and fewer of them as they progress through school. Only by active questioning does the mind consciously get a chance to amend or delete its stored programming. This requires effort, and is therefore the path least chosen by most people who choose the “easy path.” It is the active path that the mind expands its consciousness and knowledge ~ it is by no other process this can occur. Broad is the way, narrow is the gate.
