In the 1980s I was working for the Ministry of Education in the Maldives as an illustrator and was asked to make the illustrations and to design a cover for a new Fisheries Science book. The design on the cover was a reconstruction I made of a torn drawing I found among Beyyage Beyyas books in 1987 in Fua Mulaku. The head and the tail of the original were missing. I was fascinated by those cosmic fish drawings in the ancient Maldivian nakaiytheri books and still am now.
