In the 4000-odd years the breed has been around, it crossed the Bering Strait as it helped the Thule civilization (ancestors of the Inuit) migrate from Mongolia to the Eastern Arctic via Alaska in less than three years. In a time frame of 20 years, the RCMP and the Quebec Provincial Police killed thousands of Inuit Sled dogs. Of course, these claims have been challenged and refuted by the government. In 2011 the government of Quebec acknowledged that the dog slaughter had in fact happened, and offered $3 million dollars in compensation, refusal by the federal government to acknowledge the systemic massacre of hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent sled dogs. And the same goverment denies the genocide of 1st nations children, and refuses the UN to investigate the deaths of many native women on the highway of tears. And now I hear (rumors??) that there will be a LNG plant and a oil pipeline running thru OUR territories, whether we like it or not, a one time deal. I still remember the deal with the terminal in Prince Rupert, the band got paid peanuts and we were given payoffs , even when we voted No, and this is called DeMOCKracy?? Welcome to CANADA, our home + native land. The territories belong to the tribes, and are to be governed by the chief´s, and they are the ones who have to settle with the goverment, not the band council, there is a conflict of interest. But if you say anything, you are just thrown in the corner, wake up people, rich are getting richer. Please copy, post and share with all, see how Canada treats 1st nations people. Creator bless us, all my relations Northern Raven
