In the US, I think everything possible is done to make the government appear as incompetent and ineffective as possible, and has it worked to perfection. Incompetent, corrupt leadership, the revolving door between regulators and the industries they regulate, the deliberate underfunding and under staffing of important programs are all part of the game plan. In order to steal everything in the country and turn it into profits, it is first necessary to kill the watch dog by turning the people against the very idea of government. Then make the government answerable only to you and illuminate any kind of regulation or oversight. Look at the head hunting job being done to the Post Office! The private sector wants to get rid of the USPS, because that is the only thing preventing them from charging whatever the market will bare. You may recall that in the early days of Obama Care, there was supposed to be a Public Option available to people, in order to hold down what the Heath Insurance Industry could charge to customers. The Industry did not like that, so behind closed doors, it went away. Weakening government through corruption and incompetence is essential to privatizing everything they can make a profit on. Take a close look at what has happened in Greece. Disaster Capitalism Its a part of Globalization known as austerity Make governments insolvent by creating a financial crisis and forcing the governments to bail out the banks and then make them sell off their infrastructure, beaches, parks and real estate to the private sector as a condition to getting loans from the IMF and the World Bank. Dont get me wrong, I think the US government has become a joke! But I also think that driving a wedge between people and government is essential to the privatization of the whole fracking planet! If you look at all the countries on the USAs hit list, I can almost guarantee that these are the counties who are seen as a hindrance to this plan. I dont want government involved in everything either, but that does not mean that competent, honest and pro-active government, answerable to the people does not have a role to play. After all, the track record for privatization, and the ability of corporations to regulate themselves should be something that keeps us up at night!
