In the United States, we have patents, which basically means that new ideas cannot be used by the public for 20 years and often times the delays are much longer because research is halted on ideas for 20 year intervals. So what can be created in months or years in a FLOK Society could take the United States 60+ years. Nikola Tesla invented wireless communication and was sending signals over 50 miles by 1895, yet it took nearly a century for this technology to become available to the general public. Wireless energy is another invention of Tesla’s that we won’t likely get to enjoy until more nations enter the post-capitalism era because the current energy industry is so profitable. By keeping ideas free, companies cannot exploit their patents through price, preventing access to things that would benefit everyone only available to the wealthy for the sake of profit. ___________________ Knowledge is Power. Patents create gateways, withholding it from most, and charging outrageous entry fees from others.
