In the customers-in-a-fugue-state-when-entering-a-business category: Despite getting C-30 to board on Southwest, I made it into row 2. As Im sitting here, an older lady comes up front before take off and starts un-latching a small cabinet door next to the front entrance area. The door is maybe ten inches wide and three feet tall. Its mounted between two other smaller cabinets, one above and one below. The surprised flight attendant asks her if she can get her something and she responds that shes looking for the restroom. The attendant, likely due to the background noise of boarding and the fact that theres no way anyone could possibly mistake this for a bathroom door, doesnt understand her and presumes shes looking for something normally stored in this cabinet. The attendant responds by asking the lady if she works for Southwest and says something about she figured thats how she would have known where the thing she was looking for was stored. Finally, the lady clarifies that shes looking for the restroom and is directed to the appropriate door. I hope she correctly identified the toilet! Anyone who has ever worked in a job where one interacts with the public can likely appreciate this story. What is your best customer fugue state story? _Ian
