In the lead up to the grand final, let me share a bit of information that may help everyone. Back in 1990, Penrith was in their first grand final. A day or two before the match, it was reported in the press that Greg Alexander, their halfback and best player had been injured in a car crash and was likely to miss the game. Now, the fact is I knew better. Greg had not been in a car accident, his brother Ben had. How did I know this? Because he had run up the backside of a very close friend of mine. He was not hurt (at least in this accident - he died two years later in a car accident). However, the Penrith media people, for whatever reason, put it out to the press that it was Greg who was in the accident and that he was probably not going to play. This was presumably done so that the opposition would have to plan some other tactics to take into account whoever was going to replace him. Now to today. Michael Ennis, has he got a broken foot or not. Personally, I would not believe whatever I am being told about this and will only believe what happens at 7:15 pm on Sunday night. I suggest that fans also treat with utmost caution, if not disdain, anything they read or hear about the match from now till the kickoff.
