In the mid 1950s, the Martha White Company sponsored a free concert in Vardaman featuring a young singer with Sun Records by the name of Johnny Cash. My dad, Charlie LeCornu, had a grocery store and sold mostly Martha White products. I remember having clothing made from the flour sacks (they were printed then). Because daddy had sold so much of the Martha White products, they wanted to repay the community by having a free concert. Johnny Cash sang at the VHS auditorium and I was able to go backstage and meet him. He signed this publicity picture for me. The writing may not show up well because it is in blue ink. It says: To Laura Thanks Johnny Cash.
