In the movie Karate Kid, Jackie Chan instructed Jaden Smith to take his jacket off, put it on the ground, pick it up, and to hang it up. He was instructed to do this repeatedly to the point of pure frustration. Jaden wanted to learn Kung Fu and to him this was a waste of time. His instructor was wise and knew this repeated exercise would build muscle, strengthen him, give him confidence, and allow him to maneuver skillfully. God is taking you through a similar exercise in life and while it may seem like it’s totally unnecessarily it’s to build you, to make you stronger. God is preparing you for the battle with the enemy. Each day you’re getting stronger, each day God is strengthening you through this exercise for God wants you to win. So come on with me, let’s do it: “Jacket on, jacket off, put it on the ground, pick it up” in Jesus name.
